BIOGRAPHY

Carol McIntyre is a professional harpist living on the North Shore of Boston, where she performs on her celtic and pedal harps. She graduated from Stanford University earning a Bachelor of Arts in Music (1977), and has studied with many high profile harpists including: Maeve Gilchrist,  Deborah Henson-Conant,  Anne Adams and Stephanie Curcio.

 

In her earlier years, Carol won a Loon Mountain Scottish Games harp competition, and later became a teacher at Comhaltas School of Irish Music in Boston. She also has performed in musicals, operas, orchestras  and  various ensembles.

 

Carol currently performs for local community events, Celtic music sessions with Michael O’Leary, private relaxation sound sessions, church services, weddings, funerals, performances for the Council on Aging and assisted living.   While Carol is primarily focused on Celtic music, she also plays classical, pop and jazz standards on her pedal harp.
